What does Moving Forward mean to you?
 

To me, Moving Forward means intentionally widening your perspective. Staying curious, thinking things through, and continuing to learn. Not just for my own area, but always with the entire Berghof Group in mind.

As the central IT lead, it’s important to understand the different business units, their challenges, and their requirements, and to look at things from their point of view.

For me, Moving Forward means supporting exactly at these interfaces: recognizing connections, enabling solutions, and developing things step by step in a meaningful direction.

What gives you energy in your daily life?

I get most of my energy from movement and from my volunteer work. I spend a lot of time outdoors. Hiking, Nordic walking, or simply being in nature. The quiet, the fresh air, and the space to think help me reset and find balance.

My work in the church community is just as important to me. It brings different people, different topics, and a different kind of responsibility into my life. It grounds me and broadens my perspective.

And then there’s music: whether I’m playing in the band or singing in our gospel choir, I’m fully present in that moment and everyday life fades into the background.

Looking back on your many years at Berghof: What makes you most proud?

What makes me proudest are the people I’ve had the privilege to work with over more than 30 years. Both, in the former Analytics and Environmental Engineering division, and today in central IT.

It has always been important to me to listen, to involve people, and to meet them at eye level. Values like mindfulness, attentiveness, and partnership shape how I see collaboration. Material achievements are great, but what truly remains is good teamwork. And the ability to maintain respect even in challenging moments.

What do you enjoy most about working with your team?

The mutual trust and our sense of humor. We can focus on complex topics together, but we can also laugh together. That balance is what makes a strong team for me.

The appreciation we show one another gives a lot back. And helps us tackle demanding tasks successfully as a team.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Without question: the ability to create peace. More peace between countries, cultures, and people. The current global situation shows how essential understanding and respect are. If we could ease conflicts, life would be easier for many.

For me, peace begins on a small scale. In how we treat each other and in the responsibility each of us carries every day.
