Can effluents become even cleaner?

March 23, 2017

How can we make the treatment of industrial effluents even more environmentally friendly in the future? As part of the Berghof Innovation Days, Berghof Membranes brought together leading international experts at IFAT 2016 in Munich to share their visions on this issue.

As a global innovation platform and a meeting place for companies in the fields of water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, IFAT offered an ideal location for the top-class symposium. Industry professionals and specialists had the opportunity to explore trends and outlooks, developments and visions in industrial wastewater treatment with membrane filtration.

The specialist presentations by Prof. Dr. Heiner Strathmann (University of Stuttgart), Christopher Gasson (Global Water Intelligence), Prof. Simon Judd (Cranfield University), Farid Turan (MBR Solutions Ltd) and Steve Goodwin (Aquabio Limited) gave the audience a lot to talk about during the intensive exchange of ideas about the current state of industrial wastewater treatment and future technological requirements.

Furthermore, the Innovation Day offered a forum for further questions and approaches relating to future-pointing membrane-based technologies. The many contributions and lively discussions among the participants showed how important and necessary such an interactive platform is in creating awareness for our primary shared goal: a clean environment for all generations.
