The new Berghof BioAir DS MBR concept is especially developed for treatment of municipal wastewater and other less complex and less concentrated wastewater applications.

The Berghof BioAir DS principle features the creation of maximum turbulence in the 8mm tubular LE membrane with minimum energy input. Berghof's new patented BioAir DS concept guarantees filtration under optimal conditions for each individual membrane.

Activated sludge is pumped from the bioreactor at a reduced flow into vertically mounted HyperFlux 66.03 I8LE modules. Through the revolutionary Distair DS air distributor, positioned above the module, air is injected simultaneously into each individual membrane tube at a fixed and precise rate.
Easy adjustment of the air/water feed mixture into each individual membrane controls fouling at any time.

Combining the DS air distributor with the unique features of low plugging and backwash of the 8 mm LE membrane, extends the economic application of this BioAir DS MBR concept to medium and larger scale MBR-plants.
