Berghof Analytics is investing in the future. In February 2011 new plasma mass spectrometers for trace elemental analysis were put into operation at the Tübingen and Chemnitz locations. (a)
In our laboratory in Tübingen, a new inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometer from Agilent was put into operation for trace elemental analysis. This enables us to provide excellent powers of detec-tion for all element contaminations in compliance with the state of the art. Residue analysis for metal-lic contaminants such as cadmium, lead and mercury is being improved securely and sustainably. Analyses of total bromine in the form of bromide in pharmaceutical drugs and preparations are now carried out entirely by us. New potentials also arise in the analyses of mineral substances and traces for food supplements. It goes without saying that when it was commissioned, the system underwent extensive qualification. It can therefore be used without any restrictions and with maximum safety for investigations in the pharmaceutical field.
At the Chemnitz location a new, inductively-coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometer has been installed parallel to this. It makes it possible to process the required high number of element analyses in the environmental sector and, in the case of solids and eluates, safely and in realtime. By using systems which are both constructed in the same way at the two locations, efficiency and synergy in employee training and in method know-how are assured.
