Harmful substances in buildings
Contaminant loads and air pollution in residential premises, offices and the workplace and even partial or complete refurbishment of kindergartens, schools, gymnasiums and sport halls have gained increasing importance in recent years.
The concern that the contaminants can damage people's health has brought about greater public awareness of this matter. However, there is frequently uncertainty owing to incomplete knowledge of the relevant contaminant and a lack of familiarity in dealing with reference and limit values. Keywords in this context are asbestos, formaldehyde, PCB, parquet adhesive containing tar, wood preservatives and solvents.
